Volunteer: General Food Events/Food Box Distribution VolunteerThe Lincoln County Regional Planning Commission holds various food access evens for Lincoln County residents. The needs change, and the current need and details are below. You may register as a volunteer for the specific event, or to be added to the general volunteer list. Current need: The Farmers to Families Food Box program distributes a drive-through distribution of free, prepackaged boxes with produce, meat, and dairy items, as well as gallon of milk, to anyone who would like one. Volunteers are needed mainly to load boxes into cars, as well as help with traffic flow, answer questions, distribute flyers, and other tasks as needed. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, and have a positive demeanor for working with the public. Current need: The Farmers to Families Food Box program distributes a drive-through distribution of free, prepackaged boxes with produce, meat, and dairy items, as well as gallon of milk, to anyone who would like one. Volunteers are needed mainly to load boxes into cars, as well as help with traffic flow, answer questions, distribute flyers, and other tasks as needed. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, and have a positive demeanor for working with the public. We are currently looking for the following event support, with potentially more to come in the future. 4/14: Whitefield Calvary Baptist Church. 2 - 5 p.m. 4/21: Newcastle, Route 1 Sherman Lake Rest Area. 3 – 5 p.m. 4/28: Wiscasset Community Center. 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.Shifts start 30 minutes prior to the event start time, and may not need to stay for the entire duration.
