Sewing Masks for Maine

NO LONGER IN OPERATION AS OF May 15, 2020

What began as two spontaneous Facebook groups and one fabric store website on March 21 merged into one source "Sewing Masks for Maine" with a mission to connect stitchers and health care organizations to put face coverings into the hands of those who needed to make their standard-issue PPE last longer. This was an all-volunteer effort.

As of May 15, 2020 we will suspend operations after delivering more than 17,000 handmade fabric masks in 6 weeks.

We connected individual stitchers in Maine with health care organizations that requested masks. Our system was organized by county.
